FamilyPlate Privacy Policy

Effective date: 14 June 2026

FamilyPlate is a private meal-planning app for households. This policy explains what data the app and this website collect, why, who it is shared with, and the control you have over it. We collect only what is needed, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking in the app.

Who we are

FamilyPlate ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by the app's developer. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@getfamilyplate.com or through the support page.

Information we collect

We do not store your email address from sign-in. Apple may include an email in the sign-in token; we read it only to verify the token and then discard it — it is never saved. (An email you type into the contact form is, of course, kept so we can reply.)

What we do not collect

We do not collect passwords, location, contacts, health data, or advertising identifiers. The FamilyPlate app contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs, and we do not sell your data.

This website

This marketing website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics and Umami Analytics, two privacy-first, cookieless measurement tools. They record aggregate visit counts, page performance, and anonymous interaction events (such as taps on our App Store links) without cookies, without cross-site tracking, and without collecting personal information. The website sets no advertising cookies.

How your data is shared within your household

FamilyPlate is built around households. The meals, weekly plans, and meal photos in your household are shared with every member of that household. Anyone you invite (with a single-use, 7-day invite code) can see and edit this shared content. Your dietary preferences, devices, and subscription purchase are tied to your own account.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of processors to run the app and website:

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Some data expires automatically: invite codes after 7 days, AI suggestion caches after 7 days, dismissed-suggestion hints after 90 days, contact-form messages after about 180 days, and operational logs after about one month. If you delete your account, we retain a small, anonymous record keyed only to your Apple identifier for up to 365 days to prevent repeated free-trial abuse; it contains no personal content.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account). This removes your profile, your registered devices, and your household membership. If you are the last member of your household, the entire household — including its meals, weekly plans, and photos — is permanently deleted.

Children

FamilyPlate is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Significant changes will be reflected here.
